Rishi Arumugam 

Rishi has had a badminton racquet in his hand since he was five years old—back when he was barely as tall as the racquet itself! Today, he brings years of personal and professional experience and a deeply analytical approach to his role as Head Coach at BESA.  Currently in his second year of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ottawa, Rishi combines his academic discipline with his passion for athletic development.

• Varsity Athlete: Competes at the collegiate level in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) representing the University of Ottawa.
  BESA 

• High-Performance Coaching for HP-level 1: Over 3 years of specialized coaching experience developing athletes at the prestigious RA Centre and other prominent local clubs.
  BESA 

• Elite Training: HP1 (High Performance) trained athlete out of the RA Centre. 

• Provincial Competitor: Actively competed at the provincial badminton level for four consecutive years (2021–2025).

• WON several regional tournets in the ottawa badminton district
